I’m Amanda- the behind-the-scenes helper of this whole shindig. My husband is Eric, and we’ve been married since 2009 and have two amazing kids.
I may not play a role in the podcast, but you’ll get to hear from me in reviews, creative outlets (nerd shop, anyone?) and most of the social media content.
I’m a huge Disney nerd and at this point, I’ve embraced my role in TTRPG and board game life- we started our first D&D game way back in 2010ish and Lorcana has quickly become my go-to card game.
Offsite, you’ll likely find me in my craft room making shadowboxes and the like for my small business, Hinocho Designs.
What’s your all-time favorite board game or TTRPG?
I think I have to say Rummy. Does that even count since it’s a card game? It’s been the go-to game between my husband and I for so many years and it can be played anywhere. I’m also a really big fan of Fluxx of any kind- every time you play it’s a new game and bonus- its easy to teach new players.
What character class do you always end up playing (or secretly wish you could play)?
I always end up as a ranger- no matter what race or class I choose, my character ends up with a bow and arrow and depends on it for everything.
What’s your proudest crit success—or funniest crit fail?
I was playing the daughter of an influential person in town. The party I was with had escaped from a kidnapping situation and we were returning to the town. I didn’t want word getting to my mother about our return until I could see her- so instead of donning a disguise, sneaking over the wall near our house, or any other sane option- I decided to cast fog cloud at the gate and cause the guards and everyone around to go into an absolute panic and think they were being attacked. I still get teased to this day about it- but hey, we did make it to the house before someone could tell mom.
What’s your go-to snack or drink for game night?
Popcorn! Or really, anything munchy- chips, pretzels, etc. My go-to drink is usually water, but I enjoy the occasional glass of wine or bottle of Mike’s.
Why do you love tabletop games?
I enjoy having a good time. I love hanging out with friends, friendly competition in a game, and my favorite- laughing together as we try not to die in Hellapagos, scream at each other in Decorum, or not get too rowdy at the Red Tavern Inn.
